2025 Mountain of Miracles Retreat

Original Art by Dana Bernard

What / Where / Why / When / How Much

Join us for three days of serenity, spirituality, fun and fellowship at an OA retreat at Christmount Retreat Center (222 Fern Way, Black Mountain, North Carolina) on September 19th-21st, 2025. Hosted by the Piedmont Intergroup (serving the greater Charlotte area in the Carolinas and Western North Carolina), our purpose in coming together is to strengthen your recovery. Our theme of “Unity with Diversity” will focus on Steps 10, 11, 12!

Workshops will discuss differing approaches to Prayer, Meditation, and Personal inventory as we hear from long-time recovery OA speakers and share our own experience, strength and hope. Now picture this all in a beautiful mountain setting near Asheville, North Carolina.

Arrive at the retreat Friday, September 19th anytime after 3 PM, and unwind before dinner. Have a wonderful stay until noon on Sunday, September 21st. Savor five delicious and abstinent meals and comfortable motel style rooms. ( proposed menu) Costs vary depending on room and meal selections but range from $290 – $400 for the entire weekend event.

Saturday 15 weeks through 12 Steps Workshop

This is a closed workshop that meets two hours once a week on Saturdays from 4 PM to 6 PM Eastern beginning November 11, 2023. The introduction/orientation session is Saturday, November 11th and is the only open session to help you decide if you are ready to commit to the reading, writing and step work involved. Plan on spending two hours a week at the meeting and another two hours a week of outside step work. No one else will be able to join after November 11th. Meeting facilitation will be shared by the participants. Questions, text Alice at 919-247-1338. This is a wonderful way to be supported while going through all 12 steps leading to a spiritual awakening and freedom from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors. The workshop requires purchase of the green  Twelve Step Workshop and Study Guide, Second Edition 2nd edition.  You must be able to turn on your video at the beginning of the meeting so the host can verify you and turn your video on during the break out rooms and when sharing. If you are unable to meet the requirements of the workshop, please use another way to work the 12 steps.
