PURPOSE: To gather a small group of Overeaters Anonymous members for a weekend of intensive fellowship focused on sharing 12-Step recovery experience, strength and hope in an environment rich with welcoming newness and inspiration. It is suggested that all participants stay on-site and attend all sessions Friday evening through Sunday noon to maximize the group experience.  A detailed schedule will be provided in advance of the event. VENUE: Christmount provides modern facilities and a welcoming staff surrounded by mountain forests, streams and hiking trails. ROOMS: We have reserved 30 motel-style rooms, a spacious meeting room and the dining hall. Both double and single accommodations will be available, first come/first served.  Registration closes when all rooms are filled.  If you want a double room, it is suggested you find a roommate and register together.  Assistance finding roommates may be requested.  If financial assistance is needed, contact  registrar@piedmontintergroup.org.  626-354-2334. All rooms have private baths, TVs and Wi-Fi.  Most have 2 queen beds, but some have one king bed and some are handicap accessible.  All rooms have access to the common refreshment area on the hall with common microwave and fridge.  A menu will be provided in advance of the event.

Virtual Workshop on Sponsorship hosted by Triangle OA Intergroup 2-4 PM EDT on March 26th. There are two speakers and a time for questions. Zoom Login is 860 6288 2462. There is no passcode. There is a waiting room so you will wait to be allowed into the session. It helps the security host if you arrive before 2 and to have your video turned on. This workshop is limited to the first 100 people that join.

Mondays 15 weeks through OA 12 Step Workshop

This is a closed workshop that meets two hours once a week on Monday from 2 PM 4 PM Eastern beginning October 30, 2023. The introduction/orientation session is Monday, October 30th and is the only open session to help you decide if you are ready to commit to the reading, writing and step work involved. Plan on spending two hours a week at the meeting and another two hours a week of outside step work. No one else will be able to join after October 30th. Meeting facilitation will be shared by the participants. Questions, text Alice at 919-247-1338. This is a wonderful way to be supported while going through all 12 steps leading to a spiritual awakening and freedom from compulsive eating and compulsive food behaviors. The workshop requires purchase of the green Twelve Step Workshop and Study Guide, Second Edition 2nd edition.

What is the Birthday Party?

The annual Overeaters Anonymous Birthday Party celebrates the January 1960 founding of our program. The party is the main Special Event of the year for the Los Angeles Intergroup. Its purpose is to enhance personal recovery in OA, raise funds to keep the intergroup thriving, and highlight fellowship and service.

What will you experience at the Birthday Party?

Workshops, panels, marathon meetings, and special focus meetings on a large range of topics all day Saturday and Sunday. Additionally, we will be having a weekend-long Big Book study, which is always well-attended. You can expect numerous panels and workshops, including our popular “Sober Eating” workshop and sponsor meet & greets.

Additionally, there will be other fun things on the schedule, such as yoga and meditation. We have a unique opportunity this year to connect with fellows from all over the globe without leaving our homes!”
